The Holmsten Award is named in honor of Leonard Holmsten. The award includes the name on an engraved perpetual trophy plaque that the recipient (and their stamp club) get to display for one year or until the next Holmsten Award is given out.
The purpose of providing the award to one show per year is to add an additional Special Award for the exhibition which we hope will enable the show to attract additional exhibits.
The regular stamp show jury should include the award in their palmares. The criteria for the award is "the best exhibit in the show by a member of a Council club."
The 2013 Homsten Award was presented to Terri Edwards, a member of the Nevada Stamp Study Society for her exhibit “An Engineering Victory of the First Order: Hoover Dam.”
